Hello everyone,

I have a MTN contract that expires at the end of November 2009. I do not want to upgrade or renew. I have been e-mailing MTN SP for the last 2 months informing them that I will not renew the contract, but I have not received a reply other than "This is an automated e-mail message confirming your request and has been forwarded to MTNSP Customer Service. Please do not respond to this email."

What else must I do to prevent them from automatically renewing my contract, and thus stealing my money?

Thank you

I was in a branch today to inquire about contracts, I asked about an existing one of mine, turns out it has already expired and I am now on a month by month.
It would have been nice of them to let me know its coming to and end, especially since now that the 2 years are up my "reduced subscription" no longer applies so I am now paying more!!!
But at least it seems its only month to month. I'd suggest go to a service centre..

Phone 808 - wait 45min - tell them you want to give notice, wait for them to transfer you to the cancellation department, tell them you want to cancel/give notice, tell them their service sucks goats balls, important step - get reference number for said cancellation request.

Also make sure you get them to repeat after you that this is the only form of cancellation request required.

Are you sure that they can automatically renew a contract? I thought you went onto month to month basis?
