Hi Guys

I just had a call from my dad RE. his cellular contract. He upgraded in March this year and was given a new handset (I don't know what handset). To date he has had this handset in his possession for a total of 2 weeks. The rest of the time it has been in for repairs as the software on the handset is faulty. He is totally fed up now and wants them to either replace this handset with a new one, or cancel the contract totally.

Surely he must have some footing to demand this? Can someone help me out with a way forward?

I published my complaint on hellopeter.co.za and received an almost immediate phone call and apology from MTN head-office.

Seriously? Did they replace your phone though?

I had the same problem with MTN. I got a new phone on contract that was faulty out of the box. I returned it and they sent it for repair. After five times and six months it was still faulty. At this point they refused to repair the phone any more. So I'm stuck with a broken phone that I can do nothing about and that I am paying for every month. Soon as my contract is up MTN can go to hell.
