MTN Contract Question dispute

Hi there,

Anybody know the turnaround time to process a contract on MTN?

I applied for the 50GB promo on the 20th January and was told by the consultant in the store that their printers are not working to print my contract. Based on this, she will capture my details, and as long as she has a reference number on the promo day,she will print my contract when the printers are operational again.

Due to unforeseen circumstances (Not in my control), my contract was FINALLY activated and ported a week later.

I was now told from the MTN call centre that I am not eligible for the 50GB promo because it was not activated on the Promo date (20/01).

Surely this goes against me as a consumer since I "Didn't get what I signed up for"? :mad::mad:
Who can I escalate this to? Since the call centre is extremely unhelpful

Any help would be appreciated

My contract wasn't 'activated' on the day itself either. Give it about 7 days for the promos to be loaded. If it's not loaded then take action.

Some people in the call centre don't know what they're talking about
 
yeah also just check up with the sales team around this

mine was cancelled and the guy did my app over again

and he had to email the other teams to inlcude the bundle on my deal as i had signed up on the day

Aah great! It literally just got activated. Does it renew every month on the 1st?

I see! Glad they honored the contract. Mine was literally just sent to me (sms to say data and minutes activated)
 
Nope. To check when it's renewed, download the MyMTN App and go to subscriptions. It shows the renewal date. Mine renews on the 14th of every month

Agreed,

I needed this so badly because I don't have any fixed lines at home. So no wifi there. :-(
 
Haha I kid you not. Surprisingly, there are many places that you can get between 60Mbps and 70Mbps. It does however drain the battery quite extensively. Hopefully with the introduction of LTE-A, we can finally see much better speeds.
 
For sure. All i want... Is a decent stable 10mb/s in my home with uncapped LTE. That's all

Just a quick test! I got this which I've never got on any Network. Very pleased

My brother once hit 90mbps on 8ta network when we were testing it out. It was amazing !!
