Hi there,

I was wondering what the procedure is with regards to an MTN contract if it is not upgraded or renewed by the "end of contract" date specified. Will this contract move to month-to-month billing or just cancel completely?

becomes monthly, 30 day notice. Once there if you wish to cancel do so on a date before invoice billing.
Thanks, how about billing? will you just continue to get billed the same amount as previously? and can you upgrade at any point?
 
As regards billing, my experience is that if you're on a discounted contract, the discount stops at the end of the contract; but if you're on a contract with a "promo fee", that does not stop at the end of the contract. Heads, you lose; tails, MTN wins.

yes I have the "promo fee" added so guess my bill remain the same even without a new handset. Typical useless MTN...
 
Any way to change to pay as you go and then port to another network? I assume you get charged for this knowing MTN

Just phone 808 and they'll do it over the phone. You will lose any accumulated airtime.

Not true. My sister canceled her contract via 808 and her airtime was still there when the prepaid service was activated... She was on a Top Up contract though.
