I am currently on the MyChoice 75 & TopUp contract with MTN. What I would like to know is, regardless of how long I have remaining on my current contract, whether it is possible to upgrade this contract to the MyChoice 300 package (obviously getting the new phone as well). Is this possible, or would I have to cancel my current contract and then open a new one?

(woah, sorry for triple-postage, this site was doing something odd, not loading at all. Sorry for the extra workload, mods)

I'm sure you can upgrade the contact, to the 300 package...but you won't get the new phone. You'll only get a new phone in 20 months from originially signing the MyChoice75 contract, albeit you will be able to get the phones at the 300 packages prices.

Alternatively, you can cancell your MyChoice75 and just take out a new contract. The thing about contracts is that you commit yourself to 24 months. MTN isn't going to take a loss, because you change your mind. They will however make changes if it benefits them. Giving you a premature upgrade, even if you upgrade the package, doesn't benefit them at all.

If you are within the first 21 months of your current contract, you can upgrade, but will not qualify for the free phone. If it is after 21 months you qualify for the new upgrade phone.
