So for some reason, MTN decided to create all sorts of options with data. Social, Youtube, Showmax, all sorts of crap. So my supposedly 8GB of monthly data is now basically just 2GB (or something), because the rest is specifically for WhatsApp, or something else. I work from home, so when I go out (off the fibre), I just need my phone to work. I don't need to get 100 million SMSs telling me my "special daynight supa pro Wowza data" is now finished, I need to top it up. Fcksakes man, just give me a deal where I pay them X per month, and they give me data. How fcken difficult is it.

~rant over.

Same here, that why I moved to Afrihost Airmobile. R150 for 10GB more than enough for me when I'm out and about.

how is your mobile coverage? At the moment I get almost no signal, and when loadshedding is on, I get nothing.

You should have taken out a BF deal. I got 50gh a month and some minutef ofr R199 a month. Anytime data..

Yeah look I'm not gonna lie been having issues with MTN signal during Loadshedding.

I think you can use a 4G device, the only thing is you need to setup the Afrihost APN to use the Data.

I have been using it on my main Sim Card in my phone

What's a BF deal?
I know there's alternatives, but I just need a device, from where I can make and receive "normal" calls, and utilise the internet without all sorts of restrictions, when I leave the house. I don't want to sukkel. It pisses me off when I pay R1K+, and still have to struggle through all the new jargon and options and crap. Just take my money and give me what I want, dammit.

Yeah so with AirMobile you use the Afrihost APN for internet, and you can still load airtime from the MTN app or FNB app as normal to use for Phone calls.

Same here. You sign a contract and then they just decide to change it halfway through so that you are stuck with this trash. Has Mybroadband news covered this yet? It may be worth forwarding the info to their news team.
