the last i heard you can ask them to limit it. example if your contract is R300 all inclusive then sign for R350. They do say they can't gaurantee it will cut off so it is maybe best if you know you are close to the end to terminate connection every now & then. I have heard people say regarding both VC & MTN that as long as the last connection is open you can still go FAR over.
I have never look into this: Do the SP's not offer top-up data contracts? If they do that could be worth a look.
