Please help!!!

This is going to be a long one but need to give the whole story:

On Sunday the 30 June 2013 I upgraded my Galaxy Tab contract to a Galaxy S4 on an Anytime 200 contract. I was told that my sim swap will be done within 2 hours. Monday morning and still no sim swap was done so I phoned and an expedite instruction was lodged. Tuesday morning and still nothing, so I phoned MTN again, spoke to a very rude operator and told my sim will be active within 2 to 24 hours. So my S4 at this point has been as useful at being a cellphone as a pen, at least with a pen I could write a letter to someone. While waiting for my sim to be activated I set up my phone the way I like it, most IMPORTANTLY I set my data usage warning at 185MB and my data limit to 200MB which is how much data I get per month BUT still had my mobile data turned OFF because I was connected to the WIFI at work. Then finally on Tues at 12 my sim was activated. The first time I had to use my data was on my way home, so I turned it on . . . and nothing. So I tried making a call and was told by a computerised woman that my account has been suspended??? Phone call to MTN ensues and I am informed that I have exceeded my credit limit because my data usage for that day is at R 3000-00  ??? How? Data was off, Data limit was set, WIFI was on and connected and sim was only active for +/- 7 hours. After an hour long argument this morning I am told that an investigation cannot be launched until the 20th of June until which I am without a phone . . . again. I do have proof and screenshots that my phone has used zero data and that my limits were set.

Anyone experienced the same sort of problem or have any advice on what I can do or should do??

Please help

Thanks
Kyle

Something serious going on at MTN data. Work mate just returned from a 4 day Australia trip and they hit him with a R33000.00 bill for data even though he went to a MTN shop before the trip and had data roaming turned off. Same story that it needs to be investigated and in meantime no phone!

You should rather deal with MTN SP directly at one of the regional offices, if you live in one of these cities (below).

I've not dealt with them for a long time, but generally, much better to walk-in, tell them your story, get a reference no. & let them sort it out. I suspect the 20th date, is the cut-off for your account, so the call centre presumably need to see what reflected after that date (and can't yet do so)? But, if you go to a regional office, they should be able to call the charges up immediately.

The addresses & tel nos should be on the back of your account, from the previous contract you mentioned.
