Can someone tell me if MTN data usage is recorded by MTN themselves or not? MTNSP doesn't show anything any more under unbilled data.

I have a weird feeling since I used a Vodafone USB stick modem with an overseas provider (Optus) and connected there on my MTN dial-in settings.
I supposedly had a 1 gig pre-paid data bundle which I have exceeded there, but not got disconnected.
Now back in SA, same modem, MTN sim card with 4096 Mb total when I started. Used over 2000Mb already (netmeter is telling me that), yet when I do 162# I still get 4096Mb remaining.

Did I perhaps manage to get past something and able to use data without it being recorded? Or MTN just so retarded they not recording it and only bill me 3 months later?

So you roamed with your MTN sim overseas? Are you aware of the data charges? If you roam data dows not get deducted from your bundle...every meg will be billed according to the international data tarrif of the country/network you roamed on.

No, I did not roam. I used another provider's (= Optus) sim card with 1 Gb pre-paid data bundle. Just the dial-up (#99* or something) number stayed the same and it worked.

I am very aware, which is why I leave my 3G modem at home, and put a UK PAYG into my phone. Use the MTN for SMSing and the odd phonecall, plus very hurried email checks. Have done so for a long time.
But now MTN tells me I was on in a for R2.90, R37.32, and in a specific case for 8498 minutes for R2758! Its not poss as the sim was not physically in the phone
I queried, but after having to chase several times, got a rather lame reply saying sorry they were on leave, but the charges were correct. I emailed and asked did they really query with Orange as they said they would, but no answer. If I'm wrong, I'll grit teeth and pay (in fact already have), but wish I could get better and definitive and convincing response from MTN

The data counter is not working. It also tells me that I have 4gigs but I deleted my bundle after I used it up according to netlimiter after I saw that they messed up the data counter again

Data bundles reset last night to zero! anyone got teh same????

It very fresh from MTN that one cannot track data usage either via web or via *162*, but have the audacity to charge you 3 months later for it!
Go Figure!

I have the same problem from MTN (Call centre reference: 2704509 - please can someone from MTN contact me).
I have Anytime 200 and a 2GB bundle.
Previously my Data Counter seemed to be frozen and I wasnt being charged for Data Calls.
Now, my Data Counter is still frozen, but I am being charged separately (in Rands) for Data Usage. My data usage should be deducted from my bundle.
I need help.

What happened to data used before 19.10.2009?
I used about 3.2 Gb from 08.10.2009-25.10.2009. Yet MTN says I used 890 Mb. All data before 19.10.2009 is just not there.

If you are a contract customer with MTN - you do need help. Let me suggest a lot of Valium - cause you gonna need a lot of patience.

You won't get help from anywhere. Forget 808, forget query email, forget ICASA.
You must juss pay, you naughty boy.

I have done what I can and now must wait for the lawyers letter as promised. Can't wait.
