MTN Debit Orders WTF?

Hello

I purchased the MTN Superflex 10 about 3 months ago for R299pm

When I made the internet purchase it stated that a debit order would be set up for monthly payments.
The second month MTN sent me a link to pay to again set up a debit order as there was a technical issue on their side.
The third month ( Jan 2024) no debit order and no link to pay. I have been disconnected from the service and cannot use the app nor phone to contact them.

When I dial 135 the message I get (Not Registered On Network).

I managed to find a tel nr. 011-912 3000 but nobody answers the telephone.

WTF MTN?

Can anyone supply me with a customer service number which is a telkom landline please?
I just EFT them the money each month. You use the mobile number as reference, even though I have 3 contracts all with different numbers I pay the full amount and reference my main number and they allocate it.

Get a R5 prepaid Mtn sim so you can call the call centre but rather find your nearest Mtn direct walk in branch and go in and have it sorted, they are generally very helpful and effective.

You can manually pay your account via the Mtn app with a credit or debit card, I do that each month, it's easy

This is an MTN Superflex signup process - I honestly didn`t code the process within MTN`s webpage.

I did not speak. Type a short sentence.

You the one with the debit order problem. There are reasons why it has been dropped by a lot of people.

1. It was abused by companies
2. It gives companies access to withdraw money from your account.
3. There are better ways to pay companies these days.

Your solution was given above. Use it or dont. Not my problem.

Superflex 10? thats 10gb for 299?

Heck I pay R99 for Telkom 7.5gb plus 7.5gb a month which I use on my normal phone. Works like a charm.

Been doing it for forever and a day, the cost of the debit order is more than the cost of doing a quick transfer, debit order costs in it self is a scam, I do it a few days in advance or the moment money hits my account, if there is enough I sometimes do it 3 months in advance, it is a data contract so there aren't any extra costs, I still check my account statements delivered via email just in case.

A couple of years ago, don't ask me how it happened, but they added some random poor guy's capitec account as the account to be debited, lol I if I didn't do EFTs some poor guy would have gone all shouty and stuff......Always worth checking if details are correct and up to date , if you want to leave your fate in the hands of computers.

MTN debit orders can be frustrating and confusing if you're not sure why they're happening. Typically, MTN (Mobile Telecommunications Network) might initiate debit orders for services or products you've subscribed to through them, such as phone contracts, data plans, or other services. Here are a few common reasons: https://sassascheck.co.za/
  1. Subscription Services: If you have a contract or subscription with MTN for mobile services, they may automatically debit your account for monthly fees.
  2. Additional Services: Sometimes, additional services or features (like international calling, data bundles, etc.) can result in separate debit orders.
  3. Billing Errors: Occasionally, debit orders might occur due to billing errors. It's a good idea to check your statements to ensure all charges are correct.
  4. Contractual Obligations: If you signed a contract with MTN, it likely includes provisions for automatic debiting of your account for agreed-upon services.
