MTN Dual call issues [solved]

I recently got a 3G iPad and wanted a MTN micro sim linked to my MTN contract.

I received a microsim from the MTN store in Canal Walk last Thursday (02/06/2011), and they activated dual call on my contract. The problem is, the new sim card has still not been activated, after they told me it would take 2-24 hours. I've made 4 calls to customer care, and been into the store twice, yet no one seems to be able to activate the sim. They say they'll escalate the problem, but I hear nothing further. :mad:

I am so frustrated!! Has any one had any similar issues? :confused:

walk into the shop, refuse to leave. Let them know you are there. Want to talk to supervisor, talk to his boss, etc. Be unfriendly.

Had the same issue with the process time for activation of a dual SIM. It seems this is not a easy process at all, my waiting time was 4 weeks. After more phone calls and a screaming match of note it eventually was sorted.

Best advice is to get the primary Sim details and services copied and applied to the secondary (Dual Sim)

mine was active the next day but was not ricad, every call was terminated "your service has been suspended" the primary sim was ricad, but not the dual. Irritating. Had to travel to an MTN shop 4 hours return trip to RICA the dual sim - when I got there, the lady said that according to the system its RICAd already, and so I tried to make a call, and only when she listened to the message, did she accepte the documents and redid the RICA, then I could make calls.

It seems like they need to train MTN sales people, or change the whole dual sim application procedure.

Yip, Finally got the problem sorted out, after escalating it more.
The issue was that the new sim was not RICA'd, even though I was told at the store that it does not need to, as it is linked to my primary. Apparently they wouldn't have been able to do it at the store anyway.
They really really need to train the sales people about the Dual Sim process... Sigh.

Hi guys
sorry to revive the old thread but I am having problems "converting" dualcall 1 to dualcall 2.
I need to do this as the dualcall 1 is preventing the ability to activate services on mtnactive (i can only view billing)
The guys at MTN active said I should get dualcall 2 then it would work.

Now after applying to get duallcall 2, the call centre says that its impossible to do due to technical issues!

I mean really now wtf...nothing is impossible....right??
