Before you say "What" or "Why", I need to send and hopefully receive a fax. The Mpumalanga Traffic Department has discovered the fax machine and requires me to send them a fax, requesting the reduction of a fine, after which they will send me a fax telling me if this has been approved or not.

MTN claims that this is all possible via my phone and has a service called "Enhanced Fax 9600" which I have now activated and reports a number attached to this service, which I assume is the relevant fax number. All I need now is some sort of instruction as to how to send and receive this fax.

This is not as bad as it sounds. KZN Traffic only allows payment of fines via postal orders sent by registered mail.

Hi

This feature is device dependent. I remember the old Nokia communicator had this feature. Not sure if any of the new handsets support it. Other option it to use MTN imail. It allows faxes sent to you to be deposited into your voicemail and then you retrieve it on the web. You can also set it to generate an email with the attachment to your email address.
