MTN Frontrow zero-rating

Does anyone know if MTN's zero-rating of data when using Frontrow will apply to Afrihost Mobile clients?

“As of August 2015, MTN has zero-rated the entire data usage for anyone streaming MTN FrontRow, from an MTN Sim, as an ongoing value offer,” the mobile operator’s partner for the platform, Discover Digital, said in a media statement on Thursday.

Clearly an Afrihost sim card is also an MTN sim card, so does this apply?

I'm afraid this won't work when using the Afrihost APN, as data collection and billing differs to what MTN offers.
The service itself will work though, just not as a zero-rated traffic service.

You guys should speak to MTN then and warn them about their false advertising. Their advertising clearly claims anyone streaming FrontRow from an MTN sim will have that data zero-rated. All Afrihost data sims are MTN sims, even though you're using a different APN, so it seems that they are lying.

I believe MTN does specifically say that you need a positive Airtime balance on your MTN sim card. If you are on a MTN Contract sim card, switching back the MTN APN should ensure that you get the Zero-Rated Frontrow traffic.

so do afrihost sims offer any zero rated traffic for anything?
I mean wikipedia is zero rated on MTN, what about afrihost?

any plans to come up with something similar to frontrow for streaming? or what about showmax or any of the other clones that around?

At the moment there aren't any services or websites that are zero-rated on the Afrihost Mobile Data packages. In terms of streaming services, I don't think this is a market we are looking at getting into, licensing is a bit problematic.
