Ok i have been with MTN long time on 2gig contract with e220 modem.
About 15 months NEVER have i experienced such bad speeds at night then now
Connections seems perfect durring day time office hours during the week but it seems right after 18:00 every night the pings double get slower about 3 times and disconnect ALOT more.

So if your planing to use MTN DATA services after 18:00 rather go for other options cause they suck after hours.

I know of at least 5 more people that can back up my claims on this.
From diffrent areas.

Seems like country wide thing.

Wasnt bad like this in the begining

I've been on their data offering for sometime now , just under 36 months and yes there are issues from time to time using my E620 with newer firmware , I also own a E170 USB stick but I use my datacards everyday with no hassles.

At times though it takes long to dish out an ip address to me via dhcp and using Ginngs MDMA tool , my received data counter will display zero , in that case I simply disconnect and re-connect 30 seconds later.

Using the "myMTN" apn gives me issues from time to time , in that case I simply swop to "internet" apn.

I've been complaining about this for ages now, but the weird thing is it only seems to affect my e220 modem. If I connect with ICS through my Tytn II I still get resonable speeds. No one seems to be able to tell me why??

I sometimes use unrestricted apn same problem.

Well i noticed this LAG disconnects only happens on peak times(by peak times i mean anything after 6:00 pm-00:00AM) mostly seems like they are selling more contracts to a already over crowded network,
People all over the country are complaining about this lack of preformance.

All i can say if they keep on going down this road the competitions gona smile.

My contract with them is almost done not gone renew if they keep up this crappy service so i coukld careless.
