MTN HSDPA Card Speeds

With Full 3G/HSDPA Signal on the Dashboard... the fastest i've gotten so far (at night/during the day... early mornign) was still only 386.2kbps

If it says 3G/HSDPA and i've selected "3G preferred" does that mean i'm on HSDPA? When will u REALLY know?? The Vodacom ones flash a certain colour, a certain way when it is. Does the MTN one do something similiar?

The card shows 3G/HSDPA when you connect to a 3G tower or a HSDPA enabled tower. The only way to know if you are connecting at HSDPA speeds is to do a speed test.

Your settings are correct so I’d say that there is maybe no HSDPA coverage. If it say’s 3G/HSDPA on the dashboard, it means that the data card is seeing the UMTS network and will definitely connect to the 3G network. It also means that if there is HSDPA available, the card will automatically connect to HSDPA.

In your case above, I do not think that the HSDPA signal is available or strong enough – the only way you’ll know if you're on HSDPA is when you download at speeds that are greater 386kbps.
