MTN increases MTN Zone discounts during peak time

MTN has sent an sms to prepaid and top up customers saying the will now get higher discounts from 6am to 6pm.

I could not believe my eyes now when I checked and saw 90% discount to MTN and a wopping 80% discount to other networks.....

The base rate for MTN Zone per second is R2.50 excluding any discount meaning that a 80% discount to other networks works out to 50c per minute.

These discounts are random and is an aditional discount to MTN 100% discounts for MTN to MTN calls.

The sms reads as follows.

"You now have higher discounts from 6am-6pm on MTN Zone per second. Stay on MTN Zone and save. That's something to talk about. T&C's Apply."

Looks like MTN is really making it cheaper.

That's the whole point. Beating the price of other networks is one of the few ways you can retain prepaid customers.
