From about 5 pm this afternoon, i lost all internet on my phone.

I can still make calls and receive sms's but no data is coming through.

No internet, email, nothing.

I have a HTC desire HD and all the correct setting are on.

It just does not want to receive data.

There is no "E" sign next to the network bars, just the network bars themselves are visible.

I'v ried restarting the phone as well.

Any tips?

Thanks :)

Entire MTN Internet is down for almost two days now. Welcome to Africa.

That is just typical. They are as useful as an elephant in a glass factory. These guys are only trying to lock you into a 24 month contract so they can extort you for at least that long. They do not deliver their end of the bargain. Maybe I will change my debit order as well to a "best effort service". These useless C&^%$ plaster the words "up to" everywhere to cover their own asses...

Is anyone els experiencing this same problem today? I woke up this morning and could not get my daily morning dose of Mybb on my cellphone.

Same here from my iPhone 4.

Edit: Still down.

Edit2: Apparently IS Data center in bryanston are down... No ETA.

Same problem here.
I had to switch to WiFi to get any data.
Tethering my 8ta from my desire hd now I have to carry both phones!

Seems bis is working though because my friends with Bob's can still whatsapp me.

I'm using a one x.

In Woodmead - can't do any data over the MTN network atm.

and the best part is that everyone's bills will remain the same at the end of the month despite not having service. again i return to an example i used before.....imagine a garden service being paid to come 1 once a week not pitching up and only coming fortnightly.

It was just data that was down.

And you can't be charged for data that you haven't used - so your analogy is a touch off there ambroseg1.

true. I should have been clearer. I was reffering to the uncapped package. You pay for 3GB at 3G speeds and then 256kbps speeds after the cap is reached for A FULL MONTH. If the internet is down for a few days or speeds are horrible for the whole month, you still pay R299.

is anyone else unable to access mtn internet via mobile in the hillcrest area?
