Hi all.
Perhaps my own mistake here, but still pointing out so others don't do the same thing.
I have a dual SIM phone, with Afrihosts airmobile on an MTN simcard, which I purchased solely for the use of Airmobile.
All worked beautifully till this morning, I got a no signal message.
Went into MTN, the lady said the SIM card is inactive, and they cannot reactivate this SIM card, and I would need to buy a new SIM card, and then Afrihost would need to reconfigure my APN.
Perhaps it's my fault for not loading airtime on the SIM card, but nowhere to my knowledge does Afrihost warn that failure to load air time, even R10 at a time, will see the sim card being rendered inactive.
It's not as if the phone was switched off, and the SIM wasn't being used on MTNs network.
Each day there was heavy use on MTNs network. Last month I used nearly 100gb alone. I also got no warning from MTN saying my simcard will cease to exist, should I not add airtime.
I now have to go through the process of buying data from Vodacom again, till this is sorted, have to deal with Afrihost to have the service ported to another simcard. It's all unnecessary.
