I have 2 contracts.

One is R89 per month. I am being charged R108 per month.

I asked why on MTN Active and a lady responds by telling me how to view my billing information and what to dial and where to register and that "disconts" I kid you not, have been added to my account?

your contract is R89 & the make you take itemised billing & CLI. you'll always pay a few rand more than the contract amount.

if you read your contract it will mention that you have to take those...
 
Same thing happened to my mom, tera. R79/month subscription, but they started charging R108/month subscription for the past few months (before the 24 months was up).

That isn't in the deal I signed for. I always paid R89 with CLI and itemised billing.

That sucks. I want a refund! I'm not paying more for something I didn't sign for. That's not how contracts work.

Exactly, but how do we go about getting that refund? MTNSP also decided to make the contract term 28 months after her upgrade recently. She can only upgrade in June 2013, instead of Feb of the same year.

This normally happens when you upgrade early. They allow a few months early. Not recommended, but some people still upgrade before the 24 months are up.
 
Yip, "upgrading" is NOT recommended if you are on a reduced subscription. you effectively "lose" the two to three months worth of reduced subscription and it gets added on at the back at full subs.
 
Did the amount go up after 12months?

I've seen these SPs sometimes discount certain charges for the 1st year & then you need to pay it the next year...

I'm not sure since how long it's been up. I just know the contract displays at R89 on MTN Active and that's what I signed up for. Now they charge R108, it's not even 24 months yet.

My personal billing on MTN is a mess, since I've got Data bundles and sms bundles etc. and months differ, so I never pay the same.

Found that out the hard way today, wanted to upgrade today and MTN whacked me for 1600 plus VAT, decided the upgrade can wait 4 months

I logged another Query and the person replied by saying the R89 excludes VAT, plus VAT it's R100, then where does the R8 come from?

I'm too tired to fight this anymore.

that's their plan. wear you down with incompetence
 
take it up with the NCA... they are trying to nail these cell phone companies
 
its a funny calculation,mtn anytime 200 includes R175 airtime,MTN top up 200 includes R200 worth airtime with the same subscription costs,
 
And then they charge you R 100 upgrade fee , really ticks me off.
