MTN latency to AWS Cape Town

My latency to AWS Cape Town is really bad over 100 ms. I normally get 30-40 ms to Cape Town. Is it just me ?

It feels like it's routing me through Joburg or something.

Do you have like a traceroute? That would show.

MTN Direct or via an ISP?

I haven't done a trace route yet but I'm using MTN direct

I tried to do a trace route but it went over 30 hops so I don't know if I did it right?

Ok I upped the hops to 50 but it seems to fail at hop 28, just times out from there.

Isn't there an MTN rep on this forum? I just got redirected to every other department at MTN and no one can help me. It's very frustrating.
