Hi all.

Been on here often, but this is my first post.

Wanted to find out if anyone else is having this problem.
I'm in Centurion and using MTN's LTE survive, throughput is great. Ping not bad. I'm actually very impress with it, but I have noticed one thing that is incorrect. (For me in any case). The cell tower is saying that I'm in cape town!?

Is it just me?

I'm in the Rooihuiskraal/Wierdapark area and using an HTC one.

Cheers.

Where do you see this?

For me the easiest way yo see if via a weather widget that uses the cell information for my location. Just tested it now and when I switch LTE off, I'm back in Centurion, switched it back on and whalla, I'm back in Cape Town.

Ah, OK, with you now. The cells don't announce their location, companies like Google collect information from people's GPS and the ID of the cell they are in and they "learn" the location of the towers that way. Since MTN's LTE is relatively new, they probably haven't learned the locations of the cells yet. Try enabling your GPS for a while and see if that helps.
