MTN network problems in Pretoria

We seem unable to make or receive calls in Centurion and Faerie Glen. Limited or no data throughput either. Getting kicked off the network every so often too.

Anyone else seeing problems on MTN?

Hi yes we also have no MTN reception the whole day so far. We are in Faerie Glen.

Connectivity was restored where I was in Faerie Glen around 14:30 or 15:00, if I recall correctly, so I think it was attended to. No issues in Centurion or Midrand for me since yesterday.

What caused the downtime?

Mtn's network engineers are busy checking on what the actual was.

“On Sunday 18 May 2014, customers in certain areas around the Pretoria region experienced intermittent signal reception. The error was due to hardware failure and was resolved in approximately four hours.

Suffered the same in Faerie Glen yesterday.

So that's why I could not phone from the Dischem yesterday! Had to use my Vodacom/S2 combo (most data) cause the MTN/Nokia combo (mostly calls and sms) didn't have even a smidgen of signal.
