MTN network upgrades?

Does anyone know whether mtn is currently upgrading their networks? Specifically in the Bellville area? After about 18 months of no issues, my modem suddenly is switching between 3G and HSDPA non stop, resulting in a disconnect/connect taking place each time.

Perhaps it is the card - E220?

Anyone have any ideas?

Think they upgraded something here in PTA, network was bad and then Yesterday.

When i connected through my SE K850i on MyChoice R75 - ripoff, i got a dramatic speed increase: Highest was 680kbps, sometimes 800kbps...

Was amazed till my phone just hanged with key and ring light around camera on ...

After only being connected for 30mins, left it running idle for 15mins ... Only downloaded R40 of data +-20mb

Now the phone won't switch on ... only comes to where all the Keypad and ring around camera lights up then just hangs ... even with different sims ...sims working fine on trusty W900i ...

Seems the HighSpeed caused the end of my SE ... will see what MTNSP says this week ...still undr warranty...contract

Dunno, but it's happening everywhere it seems, and there's still no word from MTN about it. Getting really f**king annoying now. I switched from VC to MTN about a year ago, and was really happy with the service (seems to have much lower latency than VC), until a couple of weeks ago, when this crap started...

Ouch! Well, I only get a max of 3 bars out where I live, but speed has never been a problem - usually quite steady. Just the constant DC's that are a problem.

Even changed the sim because i tought it was buggered, seems it was the phone all along ... It had issues with some cables and would only connect properly since new with a SE certain cable, have a couple of them exact same type etc ...

Will see what mtnsp service center says, hopefully they replace it undr the contract warranty like with my w900i @ 24months -recieved a brand new phone(all accesories incl. even a battery) except for the white backplate on a black phone lol, previous one was the limited white-edition..

Still @least a year 2010-05 to go on ProCall120 @+-R300 p.m was supposed to be R280,m but with all the extra charges ...
