MTN New Phone Dud Return Policy

Hi

Can anyone here confirm the return policy for a new phone that is a dud out of the box? The MTN rep states it is a 7 day return, but I have been told that if you have call time registered on the handset within the 7 days it then becomes is a "return for warranty repair" not a "while you wait" swap-out?

Any ideas?

Vodacom used to have a 15 minute limit on first use, but since it takes that long to get through on their free line, they abandoned it. MTN, I'm not so sure.

7 day return. Doesnt matter how much you used the phone. After 7 days they send it away.
