MTN Noob

My brother just bought a place and noticed that his Vodacom data contract has hardly any signal - and hoped MTN was better.

He's just purchased an MTN prepaid card and R30 airtime - and placed it in his Vodacom E220 modem. What is the process now?

What are the settings like APN that he will need to use? Do these cards still need to be activated - ie can't take them off the shelf and use them instantly? Does he convert the R30 time into MB?

With MTN, I have to put the SIM into a phone and dial *123#
Then I request the setup for MMS and WAP and this enables the SIM for data.

Phone 555 (I think) and buy a R10 bundle and see if it works...

use APN "internet" or "myMTN" both will work. If you have issues activating the SIM for GPRS as Greg mentioned above, PM me the number and Ill sort it out.
