Went to MTN in CPT the other day to look at upgrade offers for our phone on MyCall100 contract...
The guy pulls up the sheet and shows a 3G enabled phone (whatever the monthly subscription). Anyway, with that particular offer one has the option to pay R30/month extra and then has unlimited data.
I ask the guy how much one pays for data downloads extra - nothing with the R30/month option.
I ask what speed - supposedly 200+kbps.
I ask whether phone call during data download is charged - apparently not.
Can I connect to the cellphone to computer as a modem and simply remain online the whole time - apparently so.
Total price for the package under R200/month.
Now I guess this would make this package cheaper than Telkoms cheapest ADSL rate, at a higher speed with the convenience of being mobile... And one wouldn't have to pay ADSL rates with ones provider...
Somehow sounds too good to be true...
Anybody have a suggestion where the catch is?
BTW package as only on offer until 31 July, but if it's a genuine offer I'll just look for another one of those deals...
