A friend of mine is on a Top Up 200 contract, its up for renewal.
She is on MTN through Autopage
She currently has R700 airtime accumulated on it

The plan is to move to an anytime 50 or anytime 100 package, but if she moves to either of these packages she loses all of her R700 airtime.

The consultant said that basically any type of contract change would result in loss of airtime, some only partial loss
Does this sound correct?
No idea if this is an Autopage or MTN rule, but consultant says it happens on all networks....

They also say they cannot convert the number to prepaid & allow her to keep the airtime, I have done this previous with Vodacom without any issues (Top Up 400 converted to prepaid & kept balance of airtime)

Another Q, if she ports to another network can the airtime be carried over?

Why should VC/CC/TM....give airtime for money paid to MTN?
Actually, the above goes for any business. You can't pay PNP and expect Checkers to give you bread.(opposite also true)

Above mentioned is only an example.

Thanks, I figured that would be the case

Mainly looking for an answer on the 1st Q about keeping the airtime with the same provider

Your friend would do well to contact Autopage head office and ask them this question directly. I have found that what the branch says and what HO says are not always the same.
