MTN OOB Shark back after ICASA ruling?

After reading the article below and seeing the results, I thought that OOB usage would be a thing of the past or at the very least an Opt-In service.

New out-of-bundle data rules tested – Vodacom vs MTN vs Telkom vs Cell C

Today I received the following text after purchasing a 1GB data bundle in the middle of April:

"Y'ello! From 14 May, when your data bundle runs out, we will keep you connected with a low rate of 40c per 1MB Data Bundle. Keep a positive airtime balance. TCs"

Seriously MTN? Low rate of 40c per 1MB? That's R409.60 per GB.

So are MTN getting cold feet about dropping OOB for us prepaid users or is their a way to opt out or disable this?

I just posted a thread regarding this same thing. I'm on contract and got the same SMS, so it is not limited to prepaid customers. I'd also like to know how to disable this.
