Hi,
So I was on a Nashua Mobile contract. Have been for years. Then they were bought out by MTN so I now deal with that useless bunch.
So the way my account has always been due to their incompetence, I get sent R200 airtime every month along with 200MB data. If that runs out, they lock my sim and I need to call them to load more airtime on. I prefer this as their OOB rates are stupid and I never hit my limit anyway due to wifi at home and work.
So my father left for Germany last week Saturday and has called me twice for a total of 9 minutes and 55 seconds. I have now been charged R675 for Packet Switched Data Calls. Called MTN and they told me I'm charged R2/minute for receiving an international call (this doesn't fall under my contract), and I'm also charged by the other network that is connecting our call. Essentially R67/minute to receive a call from Germany.
Is this actually legit? How can some network in Germany charge me? That sounds like bull**** to me. She couldn't explain and told me I needed to go into an MTN store so that they could show me how I'm being billed.
Any help on this? I'd love to know why these charges are here and what sort of things I can ask them when I go into the store today.
Thanks
