What a bunch of incompetent stupits!!!!

My 3G contract "ends" on 9 Feb.

So i mailed MTNsp on 16 Jan to tell them to cancel the contract. I hear buggerall for 2 weeks, So I mail them again on 31 Jan. The same day, one of the "CON-sultants" , replies and forwards the request to MTN's Gov section to process. (yes ppl, I am a Govnmt EE) :p

Dear valued client,

We have logged the request and placed the USD reference number in the subject line.

Our support team will revert to you shortly.

on 3 Feb that section replies:

Good Day Mr E......,

Please could you confirm if you want to cancel or upgrade your contract?

Natheer, please could you forward Mr E...... the new promos as soon as they are available.

So I reply well, it depends on what special you have, please send the current specials ASAP so I can decide.

I hear nothing from anyone, not Natheer nor anyone else since monday...now the contract ends on 9 Feb, and I'm traveling on Sunday so will need 3G Data, and need to make a decision on a new 3G Contract, So I sent this today:

DEAR INCOMPETENT MTN EMPLOYEES,

I REFER MY PREVIOUS CORRESPONDENCE BELOW TO YOURSELVES INITIATED ON 16 JANUARY 2014.

PLEASE CANCEL MY CONTRACT EFFECTIVE 9 FEBRUARY 2014!!!!!

I cannot wait weeks for you incompetent people to send me your current specials.
I have logged onto MTNactive and NOTE that this contract is marked for UPGRADE on 10 Feb 2014.

ONE LAST TIME, CANCEL THIS CONTRACT EFFECTIVE 9 FEBRUARY.

THANK YOU!

Off to Telkom to load some 3G prepaid airtime on Saturday until I decide on a New 3G contract :wtf:

Or does anyone know of any Decent 3G contracts they can recommend? Budget is round R400-R500 per month.

Why didn't you just call them on 808 to cancel your contract? That's what I did last year. Phoned them one month before the contract ended, and told them to cancel it. No problems, everything sorted.

Did that before on one of my cell contracts, they didnt cancel it, let it run and billed me. "After the contract date yoir contract goes onto a month on month basis" despite me calling to cancel it. I had no proof that i called, my mistake for not taking a reference number, and they claimed i never made that call.

Now i have it in writing...black n white and they've replied to my initial request for cancellation. So, if they dare bill me,mthey can lekker go get stuffed ;)

I heard of someone who called 808 to cancel a month before. His contract was not cancelled, he was placed on a payment plan and sent a letter from MTN legal stating thatvhe better pay or else.

This despite having reference numbers grom 808 telling him the contract would be cancelled, and him repeatedly asking to speak to a supervisor and for them to dig up the recordings where he asked them to cancel the contract.

I have faxed (on the MTN form) and emailed webmastersp@mtn.co.za (email address to be used for this purpose) twice (mid Dec and 2 weeks ago) to cancel my contract that expires on 23 February.

I have not had any response.

I wonder if anyone checks mail for that address?

We, as govnmnt ee's, we use this email addy - govwc@mtn.co.za , I have it in black n white that I informed them to cancel... if any charges come through after 9 Feb, many people at MTN will be verbally abused through the many foul words I have accumulated in my life ;)
