This is so rediculous.

When I took out my first contract, that's about 14/15 years ago, calls and sms's was much cheaper than on Prepaid.

Now I see that the prepaid prices are cheaper than contract prices.

Anytime50,100&200 = R2.30/min (Out of Bundle R2.85/min)
Anytime350&500 = R1.95/min (Out of Bundle R2.35/min)
Anytime750&1200 = R1.60/min (Out of Bundle R1.75/min)
Anytime1500 = R1.50/min (Out of Bundle R1.50/min)

PAYG Classic = R2.50/min (Off Peak R1.40/min)
PAYG Payback = R2.00/min (Off Peak R2.00/min If you use 241minutes plus you pay R1.65/min.
Call per Second Maximizer = R1.99/min (Off peak R1.99/min)
Call per Second Peak = R2.39/min (Off peak R1.59/min)
Call per Second Plus = R2.85/min (Off peak R1.12/min)
Call per Second = R2.89/min (Off peak R1.19/min)

So for someone who wants a Anytime350 or Anytime500 package it will work out much cheaper PAYG Payback if you are going to the same amount of minutes (Seconds).

That is off course if you don't want a cellphone as well.

Well depends on the cellphone you get.

Or more correctly how much discount you get for choosing the phone you want.

A new phone isn't something to just push under the rug.

You are right though. Contract should always be cheaper than prepaid.

The discount is important. You can get an ok phone for R50 per month on Anytime 100. So that is "half price minutes" effectively.
