My sister in law just came back from overseas as a teacher and she still needs to teach online. She lives in a small town called Boshof between Kimberley and Bloemfontein. There is no LTE signal but there is 3G signal. What is the best prepaid data option for her? Just a prepaid sim with prepaid data that they put into a router or a secondary phone and set it up as a hotspot? I see a 10Gb goes for around R469? Any other options or advice that is relative affordable?

On the MTN app on my phone, one of the pop up banners has data bundles that are on promotion. Can't guarantee these are the same offers that will show on you SIL sim card as they might be tailored to individual use, but you'll only know once you check on the app with her sim in the phone. The R99 5GB Anytime + 5GB Night seems to be a much cheaper option for your SIL, but data only valid for 30 days.

If you're not looking specifically for MTN (depending on network coverage in Boshof), CellC has a promo till 21 December, of 50GB Anytime + 50GB Night (valid for 180 days) for R500.
