Hello

Was thinking of changing to MTN prepaid when my contract is up in a few months, just want to know about prepaid roaming when going international.

I don't care for prepaid data, but I would like to be able to make/receive phone calls and SMS.

The MTN site does have a list of countries with a "prepaid roam" partners https://www.mtn.co.za/everyday_services/RoamingInternational/Pages/UsingPhonesAbroad.aspx but is that just for the data or voice/sms as well?

For example, the USA. Does it mean a MTN prepaid sim is useless there because there isn't a tick next to any operator?

I think what he is trying to say, is that there is no dot in the Prepaid Roaming column under the USA. Meaning Prepaid Roaming may not be allowed.

If you have a look at another country, example Canada, there are dots next to some of the networks.

Yeah, what does the dot mean. Does it mean that the operators with the dot allow prepaid users to roam fully (ie voice and data) or does the dot mean you can use prepaid data on their network (ie voice works regardless of the dot).

Hi

The dot means that prepaid roaming will work for the services indicated per network. No Dot means that there is no prepaid roaming i.e. all services do not work for prepaid in that country and operator.
