Hi AdamR... yes. I have the same issue, only receiving a GSM icon. I am on the West Rand, so it seems it must be a line that is down or something. I checked MTN website but they have not issued any notices. So i guess we just wait.
BIS on MTN been down since around 11 this morning and still down.Called the helpdesk after 15:00 and was told problem would be resolved in about 2 hrs.Still waiting.
I dialled 808 as well and my call was answered almost immediately.If you calling don't use the option blackberry etc etc,rather speak to the "normal" help desk person.
JHB south was down for about twelve hours. On my third call to Customer Care, they said that they were having a general GPRS failure in the Gauteng area, this would affect BIS. Any MTN rep here to comment? Would love to know what caused them to go down for twelve hours!
I'm on Vodacom BES. re-registered on the network, tried to re-activate my BES, cannot connect to the network, connectivity in the top right corner is constantly changing between 3g / 3G / edge / EDGE.
