RICA Takes at least 24hrs. I think this promotion is ill-times. Just like everything related to MTN.

Not necessarily it's Instant. DEPENDS where you RICA and if the system isn't down. It's more the stress

No I bought a sim just before 1pm, they said that it will only take a few hours.

I didn't even know that there was a promotion today...

Never have I experienced instant RICA. Know and always told it takes 2-24 hours.

LAST week registered a sim card with a friend at MTN was instantly in less than 3 minutes... Depends on the load at HQ/RICA database.. now with a promotion like this there could be delays.

Being a rica agent myself I have never heard such a thing.....

Rica is instant and if it is not instant something is wrong.....

Meh, the 1gig last up until midnight and the R200 is to other MTN numbers only.

I got the same SMS on my spare MTN number too. AFAIK, RICA is instant. I'll activate an extra sim just for this promotion. Hopefully the 1gig and R200 don't come with MTN's legendary Ts n Cs (eg you have an hour to burn through the data and the R200 can only be used to make phone calls at 200% the normal rate or OOB data rates). There must be a catch...

Just tried it out. Very disappointed actually.....

R200 airtime is only valid for MTN to MTN calls and SMS until midnight and the 1GB data is also only valid until midnight.......

Well I guess there is some sort of value since I only had to basically paid R2 airtime for it but yeah not what I was expecting but I guess it would be a nice bonus for people that just joined MTN as it is free but nothing worth while really.

Just tried it out. Very disappointed actually.....

R200 airtime is only valid for MTN to MTN calls and SMS until midnight and the 1GB data is also only valid until midnight.......

Well I guess there is some sort of value since I only had to basically paid R2 airtime for it but yeah not what I was expecting but I guess it would be a nice bonus for people that just joined MTN as it is free but nothing worth while really.

Same here very disappointed. If I knew MTN sold R2 airtime would have done it. Everything expires at midnight. Good to download at R2 1 gig.
