Two weeks ago i credited a wrong number with 1 GB and I immediately went to the MTN store in woodmead seeking help on reversal. Upon explaining to the three gentleman in the store. All they said was tough luck youve lost out on it just like that. I asked them to check if the number was active which it was and said could not help at all. I thought this was quiet unfair as I want to believe there is a way they can reverse that data unless I'm wrong.

Check if it is possible to transfer data with MTN - if yes then phone the number and ask then person politely if they mind transferring the data back to you - that is if any is left?

If it is not possible phone anyway and explain that you are really broke and if they could buy you any amount of airtime that they can afford.

Geez, it must have cost more to go to the MTN store in person than the cost of the 1GB. This is definitely a battle that's not worth fighting. Take it on the chin and double-check the number next time.

Cost wise not at all as the store is within my vicinity and 2mins walk from my workplace 5mins drive from home. My point is as service provider shouldn't they have a facility to reverse such transactions? Water under the bridge it is and long forgotten.

Thanks so much it's actually a service MTN offers.

I would guess it's pretty much the same as if you send an EFT payment to the wrong bank account. It quickly becomes very complicated if the unintended recipient has spent the money or used the data. It's much easier for them to just have a blanket policy that it's done at your own risk with no reversals. It sucks but by world standards it's a pretty cool feature. A lot of overseas cellphone networks don't even have the ability to transfer data.

Huh, did you become steel and since becoming steel(Reported 2009) you did not receive your cellphone and you think you are a mistake?
After you attacked(Someone or something) you reported yourself to the police and made an affidavit.
The feedback you received was the American Society for Public Administration will get back to you.

Dude you got off free - Be happy
