MTN Roaming not working. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi there,

I'm on MTN Pre-paid. I've moved to China for a bit. I've set up roaming just in case I needed to use it.

When I landed in Abu Dhabi. I was able to phone home (albeit with high charges) but I wasn't able to use any data.

Now I'm in China. I can't even make a call. Few hours north of Shanghai in Xinyi City. I keep getting an automated message saying your phone service has been suspended.

What do I do? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Quickest answer? Get a Chineese SIM.

Long way: try phone MTN customer care through skype or w/e and get them to enable roaming in China for you (though they might not seeing as it is a prepaid SIM and not a contract)

I went to Shanghai, Beijing and Xi'an and never had in issue (though that was contract not prepaid)

Yeah it is a strange thing. I wasn't going to use it much but though be good to have incase I needed to and also to keep my number active.

whatsapp seems to work fine though so no idea what the problem could be.
