MTN's data prices too low in South Africa

MTN Group CEO Ralph Mupita has said that the price of data on their residential fixed wireless access 4G and 5G products in South Africa is too low.

Mupita was responding to media questions following the release of the company's half-year financial results earlier this week.

Sorry, how much profit did MTN make this year. And what's this guys salary?

Multi-million salary, MTN ****ed up, because they where sleeping in Nigeria, and made a big loss. There is a price for sleeping, as well as a price for arrogance.

It is the way

I say they must increase prices I'll simply go elsewhere.
Problem is when the others catch on and start increasing their prices too.
Easy to see how they can collude with this ACT thing.
Competition Commission will slap them with a "hefty" fine and that'll be that.

Just because they make a huge loss because of investing elsewhere in AFRICA.
Now every one else must pay for your bad decisions.
Change name to MTNSKOM.

Stop this expiring data nonsense and then you can hike it by 30%.

Otherwise, fsck right off.

So he needs more money but actually we need more competition, Well I do not support MTN and guess what I will never ever, what a idiotic statement. It is not too cheap it is because you have no competition ICASA is also to blame, MTN must wake up the tides of the Government are changing and Bribes etc will not work.

MTN hasn't been in the news for anything good in years, every time their name comes up its for something they haven't paid for or they are whingeing because they can't extort more money from the consumer.
I most certainly would never use them again, there are enough cheaper networks to choose from that offer exactly the same experience.
