Hi guys please make sure before porting or moving to MTN.
I moved from Vodacom as you may or may not know in December.
I was told the phone Sony X1 was free on the Talk 750 package.
What I was not told was that it was not free and you would be billed a further R60-00 approx. per month for term of contract.

This from further investigation is billed as a "promotion" charge.
You are basically subsidizing the phone over the 24 months.
Vodacom would have done the exact same bloody thing.

Please be careful when signing up with them. It is IMO false advertising.

Something very strange here. I got the X1 free on the Anytime350 package. Granted I do have more than 1 contract with MTN, but I can't see such a big price difference being legit?? Are you straight MTNSP, or through Nashua etc?

I am with MTN direct, went to the shop today - they know nothing about this.
The lady even said this is very unethical of MTN - she even called them herself and said she was worried now as I was the first person to pick it up to her knowledge.
