MTN Shares - Blacks Only!

For those of you who don't know, MTN are issuing public shares, but to blacks only. You can apply at any MTN store I believe. You can buy a R107 share for R20.

Anyone else find this unbelievable? I mean we going ****ing backwards here. Whats next? This is apartheid in reverse. Next there will be a blacks only line to get bread.

Awesome, well done MTN you dumb ****ing idiots. Aren't we trying to build unity here, not push us further apart?
 
How are they determining who gets to buy shares? Pencil test?
 
And people complain because an old lady doesnt want to rent out a room to a black person because she is scared. XD

You can only be a racist if you are white... Its a rule through out the World.

But The reason MTN would be doing this is so that they can get more goverment funding and tenders when your sharholders are 51% black.
 
So if I apply online or on the phone I'll be rejected but when I go in they'll give me some.
 
Well i do not really see many problems here, uplifting the black community who happen to be the majority.

Don't think it is anything close to signs saying NO WHITES ALLOWED is it? We can still do our own thing all over the country. Now my printer is off to buy them shares w00t w00t

Uhm, you are wrong. You dont buy mtn shares. You buy shares of a company that buys mtn shares. So you shouldnt compare the R20 to the mtn share price.
 
Come on guys, this is old news, and MTN are not the first to offer shares to previously disadvantaged persons only.

This was done by Nedbank, Sasol, Multichoice, and MTN before. You reaction in this thread is as if this is breaking news. Its old. Move on, get over it already.

Then I think you will also be accepted, I think they any previously disadvantaged, so that would include colored and Indian.

Do you even understand what I am getting at? Obviously not.

I am trying to highlight that we are trying to "build" unity here but we have companies that refuse to sell to whites.
