MTN shoddy signal

Hey folks

I have just returned from a trip to the northern cape and found that the 3G signal on my handset was running at full steam and quick

I reside in melkbosstrand and the signal I get is maybe a 2 bar EDGE.

Is MTN able to to something to improve this signal
