Got an sms, you could win a samsung galaxy S5, send your name to 34471 blah blah, then it proceeds to send a billion questions afterwards which will gain you extra points in the comp.
20 billion questions later, and many points gained towards the S5, in between the questions it sends an sms asking if you want sign up for a content service at 2 rand a day which will provide you with XYZ information, (basically useless info) and stand a chance to win 300 000 rand.
I am not paying 2 a day for stuff I already know, I can rather buy 2 rands worth of chappies for really fun facts I really DID NOT know
Eventually the questions get "harder" and you get more points, then in comes another content offer of 2 rand a day useless info that could see you win a golf GTI. No thanks I am happy with my current mode of transport.
Then the final SMS comes in, great you amassed so many points towards the S5, send OK to subscribe to discovery blah blah which sends you more useless info you could already know.
90% of the questions is reply 1 for yes, the content subscription also happens to be 1. It also mentions you need to reply before a certain time during the questions to get the points. So they likely caught a lot of fools that just replied with 1.
The last SMS is basically the double opt in confirmation, I checked the 34471 number it is an MTN promotions number so not a scam, but rather scumbag dirty tactics from MTN to try and get you to opt in to their useless content services, while dangling a carrot on a stick in front of you, which you will never get any ways.
MTN first sms was dear esteemed client....blah blah. My reply would be dear esteemed emptyM, nice try, scumbags, try harder next time, now where is my S5 ?
