So my daughters W995 packed up after 7mths and I took it to MTN.
I got a call a few days later saying they couldn't fix or replace it with a W995 as there are none!
They were going to replace it with a SE AINO - I chatted to daughter (14yrs old) and she accepted this and I went to collect the replacement.

They only gave me a phone and battery???

According to SE-SA so far thats what they do, they don't replace everything and I should take it up with MTN and get the older acc back -WTF so I can use a ear piece with a jack and nowhere to plug it in to? No manual or anything

I feel they should replace all acc as the phone is not the same and there are critical accessories that are needed for full functionality! (bluetooth addaptor etc) Only the charger is the same.

Am I wrong here and if not what you guys suggest?

Thanks

I do think your daughter is too young to have such expensive phones. And if she is "wise" or "old" enough according to you, then she/you don't need any manuals etc. Unfortunately I do not know what accessories comes with it, if it is a "bluetooth adapter" i presuming a car radio bluetooth unit, and you saying that she is still 14 I guess she doesn't have a car yet to drive and use the bluetooth device. :D

Having been a high school teacher I also strongly caution against parents getting their kids expensive phones (or indeed any phone at all). Whatever you might think no teenager is mature enough not to do something stupid.
The fact that they gave you anything is a miracle, I wouldn't complain.

Had the same problem with my xperia, 3 months ago. Although I went directly to the se repair guys. Got a w995 in return after they couldnt repair it. Although I did recieve my earphones and charger with it. So its strange that you got nothing else except the ph and battery. Have you tried their call centre?

Thanks for the replies:
The whole point however is that if you purchase a item and something goes wrong due to item default then it should be replaced and if it cannot be replaced by the same item then the replacement item should be complete.
Say I buy a DVD payer it malfunctions, it is replaced by the factory/supplier but without the remote it comes with and the other remote from the broken unit is not compatible then surely the replacment item should come with a remote?

Still nothing from MTN/Sony Ericsson as to the accessories which the Aino phone would come with but the W995 doesn't (charger stand and Blue tooth adaptor). Also with the new "specials" Vodacom has there must be W995's available???

Sorry this is not on MTN/Sony Ericsson and I am not prepared to accept this.
