lol MTN. You guys can be dicks with spam, this is only half of what I got after a recharge.

Also no option to opt out.

Yeah it's crazy. I was without a working DSL line last week Monday to Sunday (since fixed), and now I'm out of town on holiday for a week. So I've been buying loads of airtime and weekly data bundles.

R45 for 500MB is great, but my god the spam is incredible.

R10 for 1GB midnight data is fantastic too.

Are you on contract? Prepaid is R100 for 500MB.

Prepaid is R27 for 500MB on Axxess. There is very few reasons to use Mtn for data on prepaid.

This....

Hate it too. Not to mention the daily SMS informing me I used R1 of data yesterday and should buy a bundle to save. Make it stop!

Yeah MTN is the best value for money when it comes to Prepaid calls and on net call discounts bundled with Afrihost or Axxess data it's still unbeatable value and LTE too.

The SPAM sms just does not stop.....

Some of it is actually useful explaining how to make use of the cheap on net calling bundles. Fine but then just sms once not on every recharge.....

Top-up contract, so prepaid prices. I mentioned that it was a 7 day bundle. Prices increase a lot for the monthly ones. It's definitely R45 for a 500MB weekly bundle.

Had a similar thing with O2-UK. Very annoying. What I did was muted the messages so that it didn't notify me when I got a message from them. Also added to blocked messages but made little difference.

Glad I could help guys and it's a good thing this is now saved here for Google to share with everyone who searches for a solution to this very annoying MTN behavior

I get the same with vodacom. There was a number I had to dial to turn it off. Its less now but still get a few after recharge.
