MTN lost a lot of subscribers in SA according to its interim results...but its revenue and profits are up,how do they explain this irony?I thought only a few subscribers like me were made to pay for bundles that were not activated while we were charged out of bundle rates..and Nhleko said nothing about customer service!

Is SA revenue up or are they referring to overall revenue i.e. all countries?

The MTN Group today reported its latest set of financial results for the six months period ended 30 June 2009. Highlights of the results include:

Revenue up 24,2% to R57,3 billion from June 2008
EBITDA up 24,8% to R24,5 billion from June 2008
PAT up 30.6% to R9 billion from June 2008
Headline EPS up 22,5% to 415,5c from June 2008
Adjusted Headline EPS down 10,9% to 363,8c from June 2008

Hmmm... :confused

MTN has operations in many countries outside South Africa, so even if they lose customers in SA, they may be taking on a lot elsewhere.

The increase in profit is for the whole MTN Group of 21 countries. In Nigeria and Iran millions of additional subscribers joined.

MTN made R14.56 profit per subscriber per month, less than your local video store.

Can i be right to say MTN is actually ignoring SA,'cause it can still manage growth regardless of its service levels in SA?Its overall results are positive regardless of the churn in SA.Are they worried about the decline in SA?And what happend to the hipe about billions of investment in SA?
