I added a second new contract to my existing MTN account. After 2 weeks the new service was disconnected because account was converted by a system error to cash payment method and account overdue by a few hundred more than the monthly contract amount. the MTNSP call center insist that the store must fix the problem.
Previous Debit order detail myteriously are gone. after a total of 2hrs the problem is sorted, but no apology or explaination from MTN yet.

i guess this type of service is acceptable for SA in deep dark africa!:(
add it to the JHB city billing system debacle, ENATIS,.....

I also took out a new contract and i cannot even check my balance or dial out is just keeps saying service suspended and when i check my balance it says im not registered for rica but when i check the rica status on mtn website it says it is registered for rica called 808 and they said everything should be working but its not we sent emails to them, etc

I won't even go into detail about the mess MTN made of my contract. Let me just say, soon as the term runs out MTN will never see me again :(

Yip similar thing happened to my friend @ work, sorted out but what a nightmare and she was freaking out about MTN etc, they seriously need to up their customer service.

Yeah I had the same problem. Took out a new MTN contract in Jan this year, for two days I couldn't make calls, said 'number suspended'. I phoned the help line; just a very rude woman answered who eventually hung up on me! I went back to the store where I got the phone and they had forgotten to activate the number. Five minutes later it was working. The MTN 'help' line is not very helpful, better to go back to the store where you got the contract it seems.
