Going through my SMS just now, I see that MTN took me off of their "Data4keeps" plan.
This irritated me for two reasons: One was that they did it without my permission and two they said that I did it!

You call them and confirm? Not perhaps a system error? What did they say?

I should also call them too, I see they took away a gig from my monthly sim contract without any communication

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I bought 10GBs in August last year which was supposed to be valid for 12 months. Lost about 3.5GBs of data at the end of Dec last year because of the imposed change. Received the same sms you shared but a couple of days before, on 30 Nov. Have you had any luck contacting MTN about it?

I have tried to resolve this with MTN but after almost two months of trying it still hasn't been resolved. I first tried going into two different MTN stores only for them to say I need to call the call center. That then started an extremely frustrating pilgrimage around MTN's call centers. I have now logged 27 calls to the call center since 1 Dec, have 6 reference numbers, been passed to 3 different departments, have been made endless promises, and still no resolution. Dealing with the call center is so infuriating, half the "champions" think you are out of your mind when you say you have a reference number and they have no idea how to look it up.

From what I have been told the "Data4Keeps" plan was discontinued which is the reason for the forced migration but as you also experienced it was not communicated prior to the fact.

I dont see Data4Keeps on my available price plans to migrate to anymore. *136*4#
Its still to be found on their website thru a simple search though.
