MTN Uncapped lite absolute rubbish.

My MTN uncapped lite was fine for the first few weeks that I had it but now its soooo slow and useless. Getting 4.5Kbs download speed. Seems someone has decided to throttle my SIM way more than the "Fair Usage" rubbish the call centre kept quoting me. If I use my other MTN SIM I get 5Mbps download so its definitely a throttling issue.
Don't get the Uncapped lite package as you'll be stuck with sh&^%$% speeds for 24 months.
 
I think most of us knew this was bound to happen besides, I don't think anyone signs 24 month contracts anymore hey, except for a cell phone of course but data wise month to month or 12 months max is the way to go.

hi i do a cold reboot and then i get good speeds again
it is throttling but also the amount of people on the antenna at a time that causes that
mine dropped for a while but then they did something added an extra antenna or something now my throttled speed after my cap is 1-3mbps but there are times when it is pathetic but not more than an hour or so
then i walk away watch tv or walk the dog come back reboot and i'm back up to speed again
but i did put in a complaint once so far that was in the 2nd month of using it
so maybe it bore fruit can't say but i'm quite happy with my connection

Is that Kilo bit or byte.Take a test here www.speedtest.net.
Wan't to see where u sit at and give me your signal strength .You can see that at the mtn program where u hover mouse over your Signal bars.
 
Switch over to back+door at full speeds for almost R0.01/GB if you do 800GB/month.
 
Rubbish Speeds

On MTN Uncapped Lite as well. Loading this particular page took about a minute. I'm trying to do a speed test, it's taken five minutes to load the page and start the test on this website. Currrently sitting at 0.04Mbps download speed which surely is NOT broadband (it hasn't even started the upload speed after roughly 6 mins). Our usage is for net and email, no video, no gaming, etc. No way we can go anywhere near the 3 gig cap. It's a complete joke.

I'm in Durban North and often enjoy greater speeds than this.
