Hi guys
Correct me if I am wrong but the mtn uncapped lite after the 3gig is depleated you are throttled to 284kbps. Doesnt the cpa clearly state that line speed must be a minimum of 384 kbps to qualify as broadband. So are they not breaking the law

First of it's not 284kbps. It's 256Kbps.

Second, I don't know what the CPA states, but it was recently agreed by this demented law that the minimum broadband speed in South Africa should be 256Kbps. [citation]

Third of all, you can opt for the Business package, which throttles at 384Kbps if you don't 'like' 256Kbps, in other words, you pay for a decent service.

Fourth: Read the T&C's before you sign up. Specially for a 24 month contract.

I've got it and its awesome. ^
Granted, it is my secondary connection I use for when my sister is downloading or I am at college or sometimes just to get a better download speed generally than my Mweb 1mbps...as far as 3g goes, definitely your best bet regardless of the throttling...if you look at Vodacom's prices you will soil yourself...
My latency in CS:S tonight with it was 84! :O
