Good Morning all,

So I woke up this morning to find that my remaining minutes on my MTN line were gone. Last night there were 381, this morning, "You have insufficient..."... So I decide to go online to check. Nothing

No Worries, I decide to use the 135 contact number and... oh. my. GOD! I spent upwards of 2 hours listening to this woman ... I went through EVERY menu available (I wrote them down, so I dont do anything twice) and nada... except...

At some point they actually transfer you to 136, which is supposed to be where I need to be... but nothing. 2 hours Ill never get back. It seems MTN does not have a call centre that is actually manned anymore, because reaching them is impsossible...

Or am I missing something?

Honestly, all things considered, I think Telkom would be a better option. I managed to reach a human in 17 minutes... Prices are WAY better too!

Oh, apologies if this is in the wrong section. MyBB is just as confusing as MtN.

Take it to the X platform and send MTNza a message.

Personally though I have little faith in MTN since purchasing the MTN Flex sim and never receiving it

They've screwed up my upgrade in July, from 20GB+20GB to 70GB Ruby MTM. I've since been paying R299 for Ruby but have only been receiving 20GB in Sept and Oct My statements and invoices confirm I am on Ruby MTM, but my MTN app states I am on My MTNChoice 20GB! I've had multiple tickets logged, including one currently sitting at the complaints dept. I also send messages on FB, I usually get responses but no resolution thus far. Apparently MTN back office support is now being done by Ilula based in India?

Maybe I'm missing something, but you don't seem to state how much longer (no. of days) you were expecting the minutes to last you. .

in our case for calls, I load R100 airtime (from a voucher, the antiquated way) every 30 days, convert it to a voice package + 30 days later the system does its thing and takes away whatever minutes were remaining.

Have no reason to contact them as a result.
Why did you need to contact them ?

The only way I could get assistance from MTN was to go to their walk-in centre in the Menlyn shopping centre.
Success in the walk-in centre depends on the level of expertise of the agent that you are dealing with there.

Yeah, data bundles only last 30 days, which in itself is crazy!

They give options of hourly, daily, weekly or monthly.

I don't agree with it either, but at least one knows beforehand - whether through USSD or the app - what you're signing up for.

By the way, MTN through Afrihost - you can literally rollover a full month's Anytime + Night data to the next month, because I've done it myself so there are ways around MTN's limitations.

Opened a new contract in March.... big fun, getting MTN to do their job, had to go via ICASA...-+they had captured my email address incorrectly... numerous calls / X dms, .... had to literally create a new gmail account , with the email address they had captured on their end, to receive my invoices and statements ... mtn BIG FUN
